desktop clutter

the underexposure here, and the cluttered feeling, directly relate to how it feels to be at my desk. too many different things vying for my attention, and an overall gloomy post-spring-break feeling.

adam's bright smile

my brother adam. tell me he's not a good looking kid.

blowing smoke

this is a cropped shot of a friend and a hookah. for those unfamiliar with hookah smoking, it is an entirely tobacco-based endeavor. i just thought the smoke looked kind of cool.

low flow faucet, background photographer

pretty cool pic taken awhile back, shortly after i buzzed my hair. i was in the bathroom trying to capture what i had done to my head, but before i knew it i was being sidetracked by the faucet.

bathroom self-portrait

this is my camera: digital rebel 6.3 megapixel, in this picture sporting the efs 18-55mm lens that came with the kit.

streetlamp between tree and building

taken while walking to wilmot street from the ugli. the lamp is located near one of dennison's overpasses.

streetlamp from below

same streetlamp is in 'streetlamp between tree and building', but this ones' taken from below with a quick shutter (and thus, the tree, which should be to the left of the light, is rendered invisibile).

classroom still life

i shot this in an angell hall classroom while i should have been studying. i had the camera out taking some shots of meghan studying, and i happened to glance towards the window and decided to take a couple frames of this string (from the window blind) as i found it lying on the marble ledge. something about the tone or composition of the picture strikes me as interesting and visually appealing.

cold branches

this is the same picture as in the previous post, except the temperature of the shot was toned done (via picasa) to an extreme low. note how the house and sky colors change in particular, giving a somewhat surreal or pastel look to the shot.

note the difference between this picture and the one above. this is done by modifying the temperature - in particular, the picture in the post above was made "cold."

back of a stop sign, purple house

this is a night shot i got while shooting across the street from the bhrd. the colors intrigue me, as does this being taken during one of my first truly intimate sessions with my camera. it was while taking this picture that i learned how to manipulate aperture and shutter speed settings.
